About this event

It's a Weekend Endurance Adventure ride to Oceanside.  WER/ETR will have a  special century ride from Pasadena to Oceanside. We will be making our way down to the beach using the river trails. At Seal Beach it is time to fuel up at Crema Cafe for the next 60 miles. The route then follows the PCH, visiting the beach cities and passing next to Camp Pendleton (along I5).  Once we arrive in Oceanside we will celebrate at the Local Tap House. (https://www.localtaphouse.com/)

Lou and I will be staying in Oceanside overnight to enjoy the beach. We will organize a Sunday recovery ride in the area if you would like to join.

The ride also offers the option to do a shorter ride to San Clemente. For the return, riders will take Metrolink back to Union Station and catch the A Line of Metro back to the station of their choice.

Start:  7am ROLL Sierra Madre Villa Station https://maps.app.goo.gl/oRUXREPsnySofNny7

(lots of free parking in the metro garage) Meet in front of the station on Sierra Madre Villa Avenue.

Ride With GPS route. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/55542958

  • This route covers 100 miles with 2231 feet climbing. The route goes past San Clemente Metrolink station at mile 75.3 for riders wanting to take the train back from San Clemente.

  • Please wait until the week before to download in case of any updates.

Please keep the following in mind when joining the WE Rides:

• Download the route prior to arrival.

• Be self-sufficient, prepared to handle flats and minor bike repairs.

• Carry a cell phone in case of emergency or to get that Uber ride needed every once in a while. (Be aware, however, that cell phone reception on many WE-ride routes in the San Gabriel Mountains is very limited).

This is an informal self-supported ride and not an official PAA sponsored ride. Neither PAA, the ride leaders, nor the route creators should be held responsible for any accident or injury that may occur during the ride. Please ride safely.
