This ride starts in the beach town of Ventura and heads inland along parts of the original Southern Pacific Railroad path to the quaint town of Ojai for a delicious breakfast/lunch. Our adventure begins with an easy drive to Ventura where we will park at San Buenaventura State Beach, suit up for a 9am roll time. The first three miles take us North along the ocean’s edge on the Coastal Bikeway. The next few miles of trail lead inland and connect with the Ojai-Ventura Bike Path. We follow this flat and meandering bike path (never over 2% grade) until we reach Foster park (approx. 9 miles from the beginning). At Foster Park, we ditch the bike path and head North to Santa Ana Road for some nice rolling hills. After 9 more miles we ride into the town of Ojai for a terrific meal at Ojai Coffee Roasters. Our descent to Ventura will be on the Ojai Ventura Bike Trail. However, the trail is under construction for a 1 mile area where we will simply utilize the main road for approx. one mile which is directly next to the trail. After returning to Ventura, if you are not in a big hurry to get back to Pasadena, there are a lot of fun things to do…browsing on mainstream, chilling on the beach/boardwalk, biking further up the coast for some very scenic views, etc. View Route Here Ride Start: 9AM Roll San Buenaventura State Park.
